Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 12-inch pizza pan or a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and optional mix-ins like M&M’s or sprinkles.
5. Shape and Bake the Cookie Cake:
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan, pressing it to the edges.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookie cake to cool completely in the pan.
6. Decorate (Optional):
- Once the cookie cake is completely cooled, decorate the edges with buttercream frosting using a piping bag.
