Ingredients
Chocolate Base:
200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped
100g milk chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp coconut oil
Filling & Toppings:
6 Medjool dates, pitted and chopped
2 tbsp pistachios, chopped
1 tbsp almonds, chopped
1/2 tsp saffron threads, soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk
1 tsp rose water
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp sea salt
Edible gold flakes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Chocolate Base:
Melt the dark and milk chocolate together with coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Pour half of the melted chocolate into a parchment-lined mold or tray, spreading evenly.
Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set slightly.
Prepare the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix the chopped dates, pistachios, almonds, soaked saffron, rose water, and honey until well combined.
Assemble the Chocolate Bar:
Evenly distribute the filling over the chilled chocolate base.
Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the filling, ensuring it is completely covered.
Sprinkle sea salt on top and garnish with edible gold flakes for a luxurious touch.
Set & Serve:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.
Once set, remove from the mold and cut into bars or bite-sized pieces.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for a firmer texture.
Notes
For a darker chocolate experience, use only dark chocolate.
Substitute rose water with vanilla extract if desired.
Enhance the flavor with a pinch of cardamom for a more traditional Middle Eastern touch.
