Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base:

  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped

  • 100g milk chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Filling & Toppings:

  • 6 Medjool dates, pitted and chopped

  • 2 tbsp pistachios, chopped

  • 1 tbsp almonds, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp saffron threads, soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk

  • 1 tsp rose water

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • Edible gold flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Base:

    • Melt the dark and milk chocolate together with coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

    • Pour half of the melted chocolate into a parchment-lined mold or tray, spreading evenly.

    • Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set slightly.

  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • In a small bowl, mix the chopped dates, pistachios, almonds, soaked saffron, rose water, and honey until well combined.

  3. Assemble the Chocolate Bar:

    • Evenly distribute the filling over the chilled chocolate base.

    • Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the filling, ensuring it is completely covered.

    • Sprinkle sea salt on top and garnish with edible gold flakes for a luxurious touch.

  4. Set & Serve:

    • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.

    • Once set, remove from the mold and cut into bars or bite-sized pieces.

    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • For a darker chocolate experience, use only dark chocolate.

  • Substitute rose water with vanilla extract if desired.

  • Enhance the flavor with a pinch of cardamom for a more traditional Middle Eastern touch.
